In light of all the insults, slanders and slams floating around our world today, I thought this excerpt from my book Cross Words was appropriate… I invite you to speak with intention today…
“We have everyday common phrases that are interesting to me. Things like: “I love you to death”, or “That cake is to die for” or “School (or my job) is killing me”. I think we say such common phrases without thinking about how they will impact our spirit.
Consider this:
“Pleasant words are flowing honey, sweet to the taste and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24
What if we really paid attention to our exact words and said what we mean, exactly? What if we said “I love you so much”, or “That is the best cake ever” or “School is just really hard right now”? Things that are bad wouldn’t really feel that bad because the words aren’t as strong. And, things that are good would feel so much better because the words are so much kinder. Words matter; make yours ‘sweet to the taste and healing to the bone’.
Praying for you many kind words this week…”
